Hey Tim, I was wondering while watching a Dragon capsule approach the ISS what are the contingencies if the nose cone didn't open? What could ISS do? I don't see a Canada Arm II grapple point. If the cone did open but docking failed, is there a grapple point on Dragon's docking mechanism? Could ISS astronauts EVA and manually grab? If so - then what? Can astronauts inside Dragon do anything? There are multitudes of questions surrounding these scenarios but you get the idea. Thanks buddy. Love your enthusiasm. Keep up the great work!!! It's highly appreciated and extremely educational.

I just the other day found out that they lose comm to the satellite because of the vibration at landing. That was why it happens with OCISLY anyway. I can guess there's huge vibration even on a pad on solid ground.

For what i received i passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that He was buried, that He was raised on the third day according to the scriptures 1 Corinthians 15 3 PS: "according to the Scriptures" - what the Apostle means is that Lord Jesus fulfilled prophecy's of the Prophets of God in Old Testament. There are like hundreds of Prophecies that Lord Jesus fulfilled, just look it up bruhs and gurls. God is our Father. He is the best of Fathers, the most lovable and merciful of fathers. Hi Tim. So I was able to see some outtakes from the moon landings that not many people see when I worked at NASA TV. They have mundane shots from the moon of cameras being adjusted and lenses being cleaned. There is footage that is overexposed, out of focus or too jittery to use. I always thought they should just release all that stuff to the public just to shut down the conspiracists.

55:00 They use inertial guidance, which are basically gyroscope which use angular torque to calculate deviation and accelerometers plus time. Its an expansion and highly accurate version of what is called dead reckoning, that is, if you know your starting position, your time, acceleration and deviation, you can calculate your position to a high degree of accuracy. Air liners also used it in the days before GPS, although those were obviously far less sophisticated and still relied some on manual interpretation by the crew

If 0 degrees is straight east, and 90 degrees is straight north, then 66 degrees would still be prograde. or are my assumptions incorrect?
John Wythe
John Wythe Ай мурун
@Everyday Astronaut Yeah, everything indicates it is prograde orbit. I just can't figure out how they could launch to the south and get a prograde orbit of 66 degrees.
John Wythe
John Wythe Ай мурун
@Everyday Astronaut Looks to me like somebody got the 66 degrees wrong somewhere, or we don't understand the reference system used. looking at the launch and the tracking simulations, I would say it was 66 degrees SW which would make it 180+66=246 making it retrograde. That would confuse anyone trying determine prograde vs retrograde. One is telling you its retrograde, but the other is telling your prograde.
John Wythe
John Wythe Ай мурун
@Everyday Astronaut something seems off to me if 66 degrees North, wouldn't that mean it launched over land, even 66 degrees south would kind of put it over land as well.

@Daniel Saraolu oh for technical term on my comments LZ4 : Landing Zone 4, pad where the rocket from SpaceX is landed on Vandenberg AFB. On the east coast, they have LZ1 and LZ2 (LZ2 only used for side booster landing)
Farhan Syafiq Fadhillah
Farhan Syafiq Fadhillah Ай мурун
@Daniel SaraoluI'm neither expert nor have any knowledge about this, as I'm commenting this purely a guess. But the phrase is, possibly, technical order for the landing operator to do rocket checking after it was landed, based on procedure (section) 11, point 100, section 2 The almost similar notes was used on vessel recovery (you may heard it clearly on Arabsat 6A center core landing). Please note that if the twin booster was landed, it'll sounded like this "Landing Zone, side booster has landed, recovery operator proceed to 11.100 section 4 and 5" Too much technical phrase here. The FDA’s ongoing testing has found methanol contamination in hand sanitizer products ranging from 1% to 80%."

@Michael Workman Methane and methanol are not the same thing. Anyways... I doubt legal hand sanitizer contains methanol. It is highly toxic to humans causing blindness at 10 mL ingestion and death at 100 mL. Human skin can absorb it. If you want to divert a large source of methane, think about cows. They generate a lot of it.

1:22:19 IMHO flame diverter would be contra productive for Starship development. You need to acknowledge this is supposed to start from Mars, there will be no ramp, it will probably start from its legs standing on rocky ground. And Mars launch is another thing, I'd like to see how it will work. If there will be some habitat, how far it will need to be from Starship. I think I heard exclusion zone for Earth is supposed to be 30 km. How are they suppose to install pipes in order to fill it in with propelant if it will be produced by some previously delivered equipment. At this point I think most of ground equipment for Mars will need to be mobile.
